Lo-Chlor Pond & Fountain Algaecide is a specialist formula designed for ponds, water features and ornamental fountains — controlling and eliminating all types of algae while being safe for fish, aquatic plants and the surrounding garden environment.

Standard pool algaecides are not suitable for ponds — they're too concentrated and not formulated for aquatic life compatibility. Pond & Fountain Algaecide uses a unique copper complex specifically calibrated for pond environments, effective in both flowing and stagnant water and safe for use where fish and aquatic plants are present.

How is this different from standard pool algaecide?▾
Standard pool algaecides are formulated for high-volume pool water and would be harmful to fish and sensitive aquatic life at pool concentrations. Pond & Fountain Algaecide uses a specially calibrated copper complex at concentrations safe for aquatic environments, while still being effective against all algae types.
My fish are at the surface after I added it. What should I do?▾
If fish are showing stress after application, immediately add fresh water to dilute the concentration and increase aeration. Ensure you applied the correct dose for your pond volume — overdosing is the most common cause of fish stress. Remove any dead algae promptly as it consumes oxygen as it decomposes.
Can I use it in a fountain without fish?▾
Yes — the product is equally effective in fish-free ornamental fountains. You can use the standard treatment dose without the fish-safety concern.
How often should I treat?▾
Monthly preventative dosing during warm months (Oct–Apr) keeps algae at bay. In cooler months, dosing every 6–8 weeks is typically sufficient. After a heavy algae outbreak, treat at the higher dose then return to monthly maintenance.
